St George’s Way new pedestrian crossing installation starts today

The new crossing will connect the Forum Car Park to Stevenage Swimming Centre, and the site of the new Sports & Leisure Centre currently under construction.

💬 The crossing will be permanent and will establish a direct and accessible route between the town centre and the new facility.

🚗 Works are expected to take approximately five weeks to complete. To minimise disruption to traffic and the surrounding area, construction will be carried out overnight between 19:00 and 06:00.

👀 Traffic will continue to be permitted through St George’s Way throughout the works, although some sections will be reduced to a single lane where necessary.

⛔ We would like to remind customers that until the crossing is installed, we advise against crossing St George's Way to access the Stevenage Swimming Centre. Please speak to staff at the Swimming Centre about the alternative routes.
