Residents letter - June 2026

Dear Hackney Resident

Works are progressing well on the Kings Hall Leisure Centre project and we wanted to make you aware of some upcoming major demolition works.

We have shown an overall plan below identifying the two areas of demolition:

Orange area (Zone 4)

We are planning to commence the main demolition works to Zone 4 from mid June 2026 up until end August 2026. These works will consist of removal of all internal existing structures down to basement level with use of large machinery. The works may be noisy at times but we will ensure to use noise mitigation measures where we can, which would include use of acoustic screens.

To enable the large machinery to enter the area we will form a ramp from the northern car park, the machine will then sit on a formed platform where demolition will take place from. All demolition material will be distributed to the norther can park prior to be collected from site.

We have shown the approximate location of the ramp below:

Yellow area – Zone 5

The existing concrete slab is in a poor condition and requires full removal and replacement. The existing slab will need to be demolished to the full extent, this will be carried out with hydraulic breaking where feasible which will reduce the noise, dust and vibration. All waste will be distributed to the northern existing car park.

We will ensure to keep the nuisance to a minimum but we do apologise for any inconvenience caused during the works.
